Lead Swimming Coach

Due our expanding programme, Bristol Penguin Olympic Swimming Club (Penguins)  is looking to appoint a lead swimming coach to add to our coaching team. The applicant will plan, teach and coach a range of groups across the club and also coach regional level swimmers as part of the coaching team with United Bristol Swimming Club. There are also opportunities for open water coaching and leading a swim camp.  Penguins is a friendly, community based swimming club whose swimmers range from those learning to be swimmers to competitive squads and a masters section for adults. We are proud to be one of the most diverse swimming clubs in the South West of England and have a particular strength in junior swim development.  Our ethos is to teach and coach children to not just to swim but to become lifelong swimmers. We aim to provide a productive yet fun atmosphere where each swimmer can progress along their own individual swimming journey. Applicants should have a level 2 (or higher) swimming coaching qualification, an infectious enthusiasm to inspire swimmers and a reflective approach to their professional development. Additionally, the role requires someone who has excellent communication skills for coaching, can develop and maintain relationships with swimmers from a wide range of backgrounds and is very well organised.

Remuneration – £10,000 to £15,000. Dependent on qualifications, experience and expertise – received by monthly invoice to the club. A full time role with higher remuneration could be available for an an exceptional applicant.

The position requires poolside coaching for about 12 hours a week, with additional administration time and attendance of some open meets and galas at weekends.

A DBS check and references will form part of the suitability for the role.
